ASSOCIATE WEB DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

This course introduces students to basic web design using HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and JavaScript. Throughout the course students are introduced to planning and designing effective web pages; implementing web pages by writing HTML and CSS code; enhancing web pages with the use of page layout techniques, text formatting, graphics, images, and multimedia; and producing a functional, multi-page website and building interactive pages using JavaScript.

Web standards and best practices (such as accessibility and cross-browser compatibility)
HTML is the language that gives web content structure and meaning.
CSS is the language used to style web pages.
JavaScript is the scripting language used to create dynamic functionality on the web.
Tooling is used to facilitate modern client-side web development.

Create websites using HTML5 and CSS3
Recognize and understand HTML web page elements
Know how to write HTML5 code
Understand and apply effective web design principles
Enhance web pages using text formatting, color, graphics, images, and multimedia
Incorporate forms into web pages
be able to create and use cascading style sheets (CSS)
Style HTML5 pages by using CSS3.
Understand and apply CSS3 to format web page elements
Create a dynamic and interactive web page using Javascript.
Plan, design, and publish a multi-page website
